BYU ended AU's volleyball season Friday night with a straight sets victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, winning 25-11, 25-17 and 25-16 to advance to the second round at Provo. The Wildcats, ranked seventh in the country and seeded 13th overall entering the tournament, were just bigger, more talented and an outstanding blocking team, and outclassed us. No shame in it; they're better, and have the kind of elite athletes and players we don't. My hope remains that at some point, we're able to get one special talent to take AU to that highest level. As it is, we have a great program, a great coach and a great track record of success. Volleyball remains the most successful program at AU, and the players and staff should be proud of what they accomplished this year, and for continuing an amazing tradition for which we're all grateful.
