Also spoke with potential target class of 2013 shooting guard Daniel Aronowitz.
- He says he has no offers yet but Lehigh and Colgate are "close to offering." Those are also the two programs recruiting him the hardest.
- He also lists interest from Williams & Mary, Penn, Yale, Cornell, Elon, Bucknell and recent interest from Boston University.
- When I asked about whether AU has shown any interest, he said "they told me they were interested and would be calling soon."
- Bucknell and Elon are his two favorites but Colgate and Lehigh are close behind.
- He's been on almost every campus that he's received interest from although he's only started taking visits to see the basketball programs recently at Colgate, Yale and Penn.
- He probably won't be taking any visits in the near future with AAU starting up, but he said if he gets more interest from other schools he'll try to visit in June and early July.
- He wants to commit by the beginning of his senior year but he's in no rush and will take his time if he's not sure where he wants to go at that point.

We offered class of 2013 shooting guard Douglas Chappell out of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia today. We join Holy Cross as the only schools who have offered him.

Griffin has gotten some interest from James Madison as of late. Them, American, Holy Cross, George Washington and Pennsylvania watched him at an open gym last night.

Had a quick conversation with class of 2013 point guard Nick Coppola from Benedictine Prep in Richmond, Virginia. Here are the highlights:
- Says he has no offers but interest from William & Mary, George Washington, Northeastern, American, Bucknell, College of Charleston, Army, Navy, Radford, UNC Greensboro, Cornell, Yale and Brown.
- He says William & Mary contacts him the most.
- He's visited William & Mary, Bucknell, Radford and Cornell and has no more visits currently planned.
I ended up cutting the conversation short because his interest in AU seemed minimal (although I guess that could change if we end up being his only offer).

And here's what I talked to class of 2013 point guard Carlton Carter, Jr. about out Brooke Point High School in Stafford, Virginia.
- Claims offers from Liberty and Towson.
- Says he's drawn interest from Holy Cross, William & Mary, American, Penn State, Jacksonville State, Oklahoma State and many more.
- Holy Cross, Liberty and Towson are standing out to him since HC and Liberty are recruiting him the hardest and Towson employs his old AAU coach as an assistant. Also likes Oklahoma State because of their history of small guards.
- On what he's looking for in a school: "Somewhere that I can learn to become a better point guard and leader, a team that's focused on winning and making the tournament, having a good relationship with my coach and the team being close like a family."
- On the type of playing system he wants to be in: "Running team that plays a lot of pressure defense. Or a balanced attack, I think I can play in any system."
- Says Oklahoma State fits those descriptions the best.
- Has taken an unofficial visit to Towson and hopes to visit Liberty and Holy Cross.
- He's closest with the Holy Cross coaching staff.
- Will commit after the summer in the fall.

If he is truly a PG (as opposed to a CG), then I seriously doubt Holy Cross will be making an offer. They recently got a commitment from a 2013 pure PG from the D.C. area (Anthony Thompson). With the addition of Thompson - and with starting PG Justin Burrell being a freshman - I'd be surprised if HC took a second PG in the same class.

Doug Chappell picked up offers from High Point and UNC-Greensboro. Those are his third and fourth offers in addition to AU and Holy Cross.

Nick Griffin was impressive at the second session of the Nike EYBL in Hampton, Virginia this weekend as he made three three-pointers in the last minute of the game to lead his Team Takeover (DC) squad to a one-point upset victory in probably the best game all weekend. Many PL coaches and programs who are recruiting him watched him play over the weekend including Fairfield (HC & assistant), W&M (HC & assistant), JMU (HC & assistant), Mt. St. Mary's (HC), GW (HC & assistant), Holy Cross (HC), VCU (assistant), Niagara (assistant) and Bucknell (assistant). He also picked up an offer from William & Mary. AU told him they would be there but he didn't spot any coaches.

Nick Griffin is also looking to visit AU this Saturday. Other good news is that he said Bucknell wasn't that appealing because of the city they're in and their location.

Here's some information on class of 2013 point guard Jaylon Brown from Fishers, Indiana:
- Holds offer from AU, Ohio, Toledo, Akron and Evansville and interest from Butler, Wichita State, Dayton, Minnesota, Rutgers, Illinois and Cincinnati.
- Butler, Ohio, Akron and AU are showing the most interest.

- On what he's looking for in a school: "Being able to make an impact as a freshman and play and to receive a great education."
- On the playing style he wants to be in: "One that's balanced and gets after it on offense and defense."
- Wants to commit some time during August and October.
